Playin' yer cards right...

I totally get that you don't want to read this promise. I know you're not going to want to read it AT ALL if you're in the midst of a challenging situation right now. But, for the love of yourself, read me out here.

Challenges are choices.

The reason they suck so much? Because you're being offered the choice to get away from the challenge, once and for all. That's never easy, which is why it's called a challenge.

You can stay or leave. You can hate or love. You can fester or forgive. You can fall or rise. You can settle or soar.

Too often, people choose the comfortable choice. Sadly, the comfortable choice is not very challenging at all. In fact, it's quite uncomfortable. The irony is that most people will opt for the discomfort they know instead of the comfort they can't imagine which is...unfortunate.

The cards aren't stacked against you. The world isn't out to get you. You're not the unluckiest person alive. You need to pour your heart and soul into making a decision that will make your life better.

Let's get on it...

1. What is the real challenge? Define it. Often, we take the entire story into account, when really, we can boil the challenge down to one item. What is that item?

2. Get rid of the characters in challenge. Everyone has an opinion to offer. You can ignore each and every opinion you receive. With your hand on your heart ask yourself: what do I really want to happen here? What do I really need to be happy? How can I overcome this challenge right now?

3. Make your moves. If the outcome you desire feels a million miles away, outline your steps starting with right now. What's one thing you can do right now to thrive? Give yourself permission to take that first step. And then the second. And then the third. And so on...There is no other way to get where you want to go without taking action.

You've got this. Promise.
